Creation of a House for Families to support families in the greatest need

Fondation Dora assisted in the development and now running of a House for Families in Haute-Savoie, France. This initiative, led by the Apprentis d'Auteuil foundation and Secours Catholique Haute-Savoie, receives additional funding from local public authorities. This House for Families has been running since 2016.

The House for Families is open to isolated families and those at risk and aims to enable affected families to:

  • discuss and reflect on the education of their children with other families and a team of educators;maison_des_familles.jpg
  • draw from their abilities as parents;
  • meet in a warm, friendly living area, "just like home";
  • bring their skills together and gain access to their place in society in a family-based environment.

Apprentis d'Auteuil is a foundation recognised as promoting public interest and a key player in campaigning for child welfare. Secours Catholique is a non-profit organisation that campaigns against all forms of poverty and social exclusion and works to promote social justice.

Fondation Dora assisted this programme for three years, from 2016 to 2018.
