Development of online training modules for the new Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Neonatology by the European School of Neonatology

The European School of Neonatology (ESN) works to improve professional neonatology training in Europe and elsewhere. To further its goals, ESN has created a new Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Neonatology, comprised of online modules, guided group work, integrated clinical tasks and assessments.

The objective is to design 13 online training modules, each dealing with a specific subject within neonatology, in order to offer more comprehensive training to paediatric doctors and nurses who wish to specialise.

The study programme “Neonatology” is presented as a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). It comprises 13 modules – each worth 3 - 7 points ECTS, credits – covering the key competencies of neonatology as determined by Parker et al. (2017) and designed in collaboration with leading international experts from the European Society of Paediatric Research (ESPR).

Fondation Dora is financing the development of two of these modules:
-
Neonatal transport, patient flow management and transition of care
- Infant and family centred developmental care

More information about the programme is available here: https://esn-education.org/
