Through the Pôle Autisme foundation, Fondation Dora supported in the development of a university level course for a CAS in autism. The goal of the course is to broaden understanding of autism and to open new perspectives in treatment in clinics, education and teaching.
To meet the need for education, since October 2016, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Psychology and Education Science at the University of Geneva, and the School of Social Work (Haute Ecole de travail social, HES-SO), have offered the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Autism: diagnosis, intervention and research. The course lasts two years.
This course is aimed at healthcare workers, social workers and those working in education in the field of autism, and anyone involved in caring for people with autism (including parents).
Fondation Dora’s support made it possible to award scholarships to those who cannot afford the course fees, purchase learning materials and invite experts of worldwide acclaim to contribute to the course.
Fondation Dora assisted this programme for two years, between 2016 and 2018.
